The body’s energy centres are known as the 7 Chakras, and this information can be found in the body, which runs from the base of the skull to the crown with the spinal cord. Till now, there has been no in-depth spiritual research on chakras in medical studies, but there are an infinite number of chakras found in the human body, each of which has its distinct vibration, sound colour, and base where it provides energy to the organs.

In mythology, you must have read, seen, or heard about such sages and saints who had amazing supernatural powers beyond a commoner’s understanding. In such a situation, this question must have come to your mind: What did they have that made them feel happiness and sorrow equally? What are the 7 Chakras?

Chakra is a Sanskrit word that translates to “wheel” or “circle.” There are seven most prominent Chakras, the energy bodies of the information body that exist within the physical body. We generally hear and know about these seven Chakras, each associated with its specific vibration, colour, and smell, which is very important for the human body.
The human body can experience mental and physical health in different ways. Still, it also depends on whether the centre of energy is health or wellness, as our chakras are considered a centre of power.

1. Mooldhara Chakra Or Root Chakra

Position -It is located based on the spinal cord and above the anus.

MeaningMuladhara Chakra is also known as existence, stability, aspiration, and self-reliance because when this Chakra is unbalanced, our ambitions and goals become unstable, and we start feeling frustrated. When Muladhara Chakra is balanced, a person’s negative feelings turn into positive feelings, frustration turns to hope, power turns into stability, and the person starts feeling energetic and self-confident.

2. Svadhishthana Chakra – Sacral Chakra

Position – It is located in the abdomen and below the belly.

Meaning—The Swadhisthana Chakra is located just below the navel in the lower part of the stomach. It is related to sexuality, basic desires, partners, creativity, and self-esteem. When this Chakra is unstable, a person can become emotionally irritable, feel a lack of energy and creativity, and may suffer from sexual problems.

3. Manipura Chakra – Solar Plexus Chakra

Position – It is located between the belly button and the base of the sternum.

Meaning—The Manipura Chakra is located between our navel and the lower part of our rib cage and is associated with emotions like ego, hostility, anger, etc. When this Chakra is imbalanced, it manifests in the body as digestive problems, shape problems, or diabetes.

4. Anahata Chakra – Heart Chakra

Element–  Air (Haba)
Position – It is located in the centre of the chest.

Meaning. Anahata Chakra: Located at the centre of our body, the Anahata Chakra is known for “balance.” It is associated with love, affection, trust and passion. When this Chakra is unbalanced, a person experiences emotional issues such as trust, anxiety, jealousy and anger. When it is balanced, it makes a person feel empathetic, compassionate and inspired.

5. Vishuddha Chakra – Throat Chakra

Position -It is located in the centre of the Neck.

Meaning. This Chakra is located at the base of our throat and is associated with expression, creativity, health, religion, and the ability to communicate effectively. When it is unbalanced, it can manifest as timidity, lack of calmness, and an inability to express ideas effectively. When it is balanced, it allows a person to feel creative and positive, allowing for feelings of confidence and fulfilment.

6. Ajna Chakra – Third Eye Chakra

Element– Avyakata
Position -It is located in the centre of the forehead. 

Meaning: It is also known as the Agya Chakra, situated between our eyebrows, and is also known as the third eye chakra. When we practice asanas, we focus on this centre to increase our awareness of meditation, and by doing so, we get liberation and intuitive knowledge. This Chakra involves insight, self-awareness, and growth. When this Chakra is out of balance, it can make a person feel insecure and afraid of success and can make a person very egotistical.
When this Chakra is balanced, the person becomes a master of himself, is free from all worldly things, and is assured of everything.

7. Sahastrara Chakra – Crown Chakra

Position – It is located in the Bellow the navel.

Meaning—This Chakra is opposite to all other chakras because it is not inside the body but above our head. It keeps shining and connects your soul with the universe and divine with purpose. This Chakra is a miracle of energy. It can be white or dark and always points us toward knowledge, consciousness, and spirituality

Seven chakras are considered to be centres of energy in our body, which have also been explained in Vedas and scriptures; all these chakras are connected to the drains of the human body, and they have a deep impact on our mental happiness and physical health. When all our chakras are balanced, the person starts experiencing joy, peace, mental peace, and self-confidence. However, if our chakras are unbalanced, then we begin to lack self-confidence, happiness and mental peace, but these can be balanced through yoga.
