What is Karma Yoga?

Lord Shri Krishna has talked about this Karma Yoga in great detail to Arjuna in Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta. Karma Yoga is the yoga practice of the physical body.

Eliminate laziness

For this, we must see time as precious. We must make full use of every moment and stay engaged in the evening. Make a daily routine when you wake up in the morning or while sleeping at night.
The practical and first step can be said that laziness is a sign of inertia or vengefulness. Considering it a misfortune, not a good fortune. No enemy is greater than laziness. It destroys the body’s action power and the mind’s sharpness.

Love for God

The second step of the practice of Karma Yoga. Every action should be done out of love for God and not for the sake of selfishness. If you do not include the highest objective and great ideal in your action, you cannot make it Karma Yoga.

In Yoga, practitioners only admit distortions in actions when Karma is part of it. They are done for narrow self-interest. He sees himself as a dutiful soldier in God’s service. Then, everything moves toward excellence. A soldier is ready to make great sacrifices for the national interest and do tough tasks. One is ready to accept the discipline, similarly, the state of mind should be Karma Yogi. Staying in this state of mind makes all the work count as Karma Yoga. The result will be as good as the penance for the practice of Yoga.

Karma for God

This may seem strange at first in the uncultivated mind. But, if one can do even one or two things for God in 24 hours, one can still walk on this path. Maharashtra Saint Eknath also got the secret of Karma Yoga from a similar experience. People say that a young lady combed someone’s hair in a street when he traveled to Patna on a pilgrimage. At the same time, Saint Eknath came there and said Brother, for God’s sake, cut my hair too. He heard the name of God and said to another customer sitting at the shop. Now I will not be able to cut your hair for some time. For God’s sake, I should serve this saint first. God’s work is first. Upon hearing this, the customer in the shop got up muttering, and went away. But, unaware of this, Barber cut the saint’s hair with great love. After getting the haircut, Saint Eknath said he should give the hero some money. Seeing the money in Eknath’s hand, looked at him with strange eyes. He said “Maharaj, what is this? You asked me to cut my hair for God, not for money. Saint Eknath said in his Satsang that I learned Selfless Karma from someone else. I learned it throughout my life.

What is the Meaning of Karma Yoga?

In our tradition, there are infinite paths to attain God. But it is also said that if you follow any path to find God with true dedication and a pure heart, you will find God in the end. Still, among these infinite paths, three classical paths have special importance.

The paths are Karma Marg, Gyan Marg, and Bhakti Marg. People know the act of walking on these paths as Karma Yoga, Gyan Yoga, and Bhakti Yoga. So, they are the three Karmas and the three paths.

Karma Yoga involves walking the path of action. It lets you attain God, even while in the world. Karmayogi achieves God while discharging his worldly responsibilities. One tries. But it is hard to find God while doing worldly activities.

How to Practice Karma Yoga?

Purity:

As long as our mind is impure we cannot experience Karma Yoga, for this, we have to make our mind pure because the impure mind is full of impure thoughts and intentions.

Self Authentic:

Becoming aware of yourself through Karma Yoga is the first step and once you become highly aware of your work and life, you create a caring path in your surroundings that allows you to not be selfish. And brings peace within you. A prosperous peaceful life begins.

Devotion:

The ultimate fruit of a Karma Yogi is devotion and time one attains wisdom by the controlled practice of one’s Karma Yoga and develops one’s right discrimination after renouncing the fruits of one’s actions.

Calms the mind:

We reduce our negative thinking and ego. then our mind becomes calm which motivates our likes and dislikes and we accept whatever comes in front of us.

What are the Benefits of Karma Yoga?

Duty:

Karma Yoga does not involve attachment to its results. It focuses on performing one’s duty selflessly. In it, we concentrate on our responsibilities and try to be free from ego. We aim to achieve the goal of purpose. generate emotion

Reduction in the ego:

Doing selfless work reduces our ego. When we do something without seeking gain, we go beyond our identity and connect to a good cause.

Purification of mind:

By constantly practicing Karma Yoga, we purify our mind and heart. Doing it daily builds positive emotions. These include selflessness, kindness, respect, love, and happiness.

Emotional balance:

Karma Yoga helps us reduce negative emotions like jealousy, hatred, greed, and fear. It also helps us keep our emotional balance.

Witness consciousness:

When we act with faith, witness consciousness grows in us. It leads us to change.
